Avianca Brasil does not offer the pet transport service in the cabin for reservations in conjunction with other airlines (Interline). In the case of service animals, if there are any parts operated by another company in your reservation, check the conditions and rules with the company operating the flight.
Avianca Brasil accepts just domestic animals - dogs and cats - transported in the passenger cabin. We do not transport animals identified as laboratory animals, wild birds and endangered Brazilian wildlife.
Transportation of 3 (three) animals per flight in the passenger cabin is limited. Among them, 1 (one) per passenger and 1 (one) per package, except in the case of a litter (separated from the mother), belonging to the same female. In this case, 2 puppies are accepted in the same transport box, following the same accommodation procedures.
The embarkation of animals in the cabin under the responsibility of an unaccompanied minor is not allowed.
To check the possibility of transportation of the animal and to request the service, consult us through the Sales Center at the telephones 4004-4040 (main capitals) and 0300-789-8160 (other locations), Avianca Brazil Site or Stores with a minimum of 2 Hours prior to the flight.
After confirming the service, present yourself the check-in counter at the airport at least 2 hours before the departure time with 3 printed, filled and signed from the form "Application for the Carriage of Pets in the Passenger Cabin".
The animal must be accommodated in a pet container, which can be purchased in specialized stores. The transport box must remain throughout the flight on the aircraft floor under the seat in front of it and must meet the following specifications:

Pets (dogs and cats) will be able to travel on domestic flights from Avianca Brasil.
Your pet will fly in the same aircraft as you, except in the cargo bay. Do not worry! The environment is safe and pressurized.

Breeds of animals not accepted for transport
Some species of brachycephalic animals (short snout, flattened) are not accepted for transport on our aircraft. Here are some examples:
Dogs: Boston Terrier, Bulldog (and its variations, French Bulldog, English Bulldog, etc.), Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Deutscher Boxer, Bordeaux Mastiff, Griffon Belge, Petit Brabançon, Tibetan Spaniel, Japanese Spaniel (Chin), Pug, English Toy Spaniel, Pekingese, Tibetan Mastiff, Griffon Bruxellois, Shar Pei, among others.
Cats: Birman, Exotic Shorthair, Himalayan and Persian.
Transport of dogs considered of aggressive breeds
The transport of dogs considered aggressive breeds, large in size over 35 cm are accepted only if they are accommodated in a metal transport box. Here are some examples:

Service animals are welcome on our flights. The transport of these animals in the passenger cabin is free of charge.
In addition to presenting mandatory documentation of the animal, in sections whose flight time exceeds 8 hours, the passenger must provide the documentation proving that the animal will not need to carry out its physiological needs during the flight or that the animal will fulfill its needs in a way that does not Compromise the health and sanitary status of the flight.
Trained Guide Dog
The guide dog trained for disability assistance will be transported free of charge in the cabin on the aircraft floor adjacent to its owner. This seat will be determined by the airline. The dog must travel on leash and under the control of its owner.
In order for the animal to be accepted, the mandatory documentation must be submitted. There is no restriction on boarding a guide dog when there is another animal on the flight.

Emotional Support Dog
The emotional support dog carrier is specific for people undergoing therapeutic treatment. In these cases, on domestic and Latin American flights, the passenger must present to the airline a medical report called MEDIF. On the routes to / from the United States, it is necessary to have a certificate or letter from a mental health professional. The above mentioned documents must be issued by a mental health professional, stating that:
1) The passenger has no mental or emotional capacity;
2) The passenger needs emotional or animal service support for air travel and / or activities at the passenger's destination;
3) The medical professional who provides the assessment is a qualified mental health professional who proves that the passenger is under his or her professional care;
4) The date and type of the mental health professional's portfolio / record and the state or other jurisdiction issuing the portfolio. The medical form (MEDIF) must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org with up to 72 hours in advance of the flight. For more information on MEDIF, click here.

National and Latin American Flights The emotional support dog is exempt from the transport box provided he is trained, traveling at or below the seat, without obstructing corridors or emergency exits. Otherwise, the dog must be accommodated in transport boxes, following the same requirements and dimensions of the transport of pets in the cabin.
